This independent consulting service in thermal analysis techniques was set-up in April 2004, following a period spent evaluating thermal analysis services and the level of expertise available to customers with this type of equipment.

Previous experience in the field of thermal analysis was gained running the thermal analysis section in analytical laboratory of Imperial Chemical Industries Winnington Laboratory in Northwich in 1980 and later The Heath site in Runcorn in the UK. The analytical section supported a diverse range of research projects working in inorganic and organic areas, and much experience at interpreting data from novel materials and processes was gained.  Special emphasis was placed on developing a TG/DTA-Mass Spec analysis system, which allowed a more complete evaluation of processes occurring in materials in a production as well as a research environment.

Working for a major analytical instrument manufacturer from 1984 and specialising in thermal analysis allowed access to a much wider field of applications both within the UK, Europe and Scandinavia where skills in training and presentation were learned. Formal training courses, seminars and conference presentations on the subject have all been delivered, as well as specialised training to meet individual application requirements.
